Course Description

This self-paced Homestudy course explores emerging research at the intersection of women's health, neuroendocrinology, and psychedelic therapies. Participants will examine the role of estrogen in brain and body function, review the relationships between estrogen, serotonin, and glutamate, and explore how hormonal changes across the lifespan may influence responses to psychedelic therapies. Course content includes current research on women's health and psychedelic medicine, neurochemical mechanisms associated with hormonal transitions, and emerging considerations for integrating psychedelic therapies into models of care that account for hormonal cycles, life-stage transitions, and trauma-informed approaches. Participants will also review real-world applications and future directions in women's psychedelic research. Drawing from current scientific literature and emerging clinical perspectives, this course is relevant to the professional practice of psychology and related healthcare disciplines. Participants will examine research findings and therapeutic considerations that may inform clinical decision-making, individualized treatment planning, and support for women across hormonal and developmental transitions. Teachings are appropriate for healthcare professionals as well as the general public. Healthcare professionals will be able to incorporate the tools and practices offered in this program in ways beneficial to clients or patients.

After taking this course, you will be better able to
